The town psychiatrist has decided to switch everybody in Pine Cove, California, from their normal antidepressants to placebos, so naturally - well, to be accurate, artificially - business is booming at the local blues bar. A dragon, a warrior princess & a pot head!!!

Oh, yes. This was one of the most entertaining book I have listened to in a very long time.
One that I will listen to more than once, I am sure.

Voices, he's good at voices.

Just a riot! Had me laughing out loud! I listen while driving my car. You can imagine the looks from people in the cars around me, as they watch me laughing so hard, I cry!!

Christopher Moore fan now

Never heard him before but the title was intriguing and the reviews were good so I gave it a shot. Initially I wasn't thrilled but the whacked characters and situations grew on me. Now I'll be looking for other titles. And the narrator did a wonderful job with the different voices.

Delightful listen

The lighthearted manner with which this was written and delivered made it a thoroughly enjoyable "read." I was especially impressed with the reader's voices and inflections and just wish someone had told him how to pronounce California names (Junipero with an "H" instead of a "J" for example). But he was so good in his delivery that I easily forgive him this omission in research. I wonder if you have to be from California to really appreciate the zaniness of the characters who are very much everyday folk out here!

I love Christopher Moore's books. this one did not disappoint. the narrator was awesome. I would recommend

it was funny and entertaining. Just like other Christopher Moore books. found wanting more of his story to go on. I guess I'll read or listen to some more of Moore.

Hilarious, and original.

Christopher Moore as always is hilarious, This is not meant for serious hearted and there are certainly moments you need to suspend belief, However your usually laughing to hard to care.
this like all moore's books is a fantasy, a fairy tale of gigantic proportion totally light and funny.

some of the characters from the first book make the journey to this 1. happy-go-lucky with a fairly happy ending
