Amidst this chaos emerges Calla Shepherd, an 18-year-old misfit whose unassuming power becomes the key to mankind's salvation.
Alonso's storytelling weaves together the fantastical with the relatable, making "The Leaven" a compelling read for fans of both genres. With an engaging plot and a strong, relatable protagonist in Calla Shepherd, this book promises to captivate readers from the first page to the last.
As a woman who loves horror and sci-fi, I couldn't put "The Leaven" down. Its gripping storyline and well-developed characters kept me hooked until the very end. I ended up purchasing the hardcover edition for my personal library!
The narrator, Rebecca, hit every mark!
