Buckle your seatbelt - wild ride ahead!

I thoroughly enjoyed this satisfying conclusion to a wonderful trilogy! This story is filled with many twists and turns and it is difficult to stop listening until you reach the end. Gabra Zachman does a masterful job of storytelling and it is easy to slip into the world of the story and become invested in such well developed characters…. As always, I am sad to reach the end of any adventure created by Maria V. Snyder. I eagerly await her next novel.

A fantastic conclusion

Wow! This was a fantastic conclusion to a really exciting story. I loved watching Shyla make discoveries and try to figure out how to work around the terrible things that could happen if someone doesn’t stop it. Maria is such a wonderful author and I’ve really enjoyed the way she shows what’s happening instead of telling. The world she creates here is so unique and deep that you can’t help but feeling like you can just see it. The pacing is excellent as it’s never boring, but also doesn’t go too fast where it feels like things are missing. I loved the way the characters and relationships build and all the political intrigue. An absolute must listen!

this series is wonderfully creative I have read her other books and enjoyed them each time I read them. 🥰 I Cannot wait for more!

Creative Adventure!!! More please

I first listened to a Maria V. Snyder book a few years ago and got caught up in the characters, adventures, and the side kicks - if you will. She has a way of pulling you in and creating the scenes so visually in your mind. The combination of Maria’s writing and Gabra Zackman as the narrator, you can’t go wrong. I could not wait for this final book in the series. There is adventure, building of relationships, action/fighting, and frustration for the twists. I cannot wait for your next book(s). More please!
If you liked the Eyes of Tamburah, The City of Zirdai, and King of Koraha you will not be disappointed in her other books/series!

Very young.

I’ve loved all of MVS’ series but this was my least favorite. Other than a few (very) oblique references to sex this could have been a kids book. A good kids book but a kids book nonetheless. It was also frustrating how focused on not being tyrannical Shyla was- she missed so many obvious opportunities because of it that it became incredibly annoying. Ok book but won’t be reading again and that’s saying something as I generally give most books at least two listens.
