Acerca de esta escucha
Three thousand years from now, civilization regresses into a primitive society where machines are gods. Sana, the chief’s daughter, spends her day fending off her father’s pleas to join the ladies at court. She wants nothing to do with court, preferring a warrior’s life. Sana loses everything to King Shunlin’s ruthless greed after a vicious attack against her tribe.
Lurking in the darkness, far more sinister schemes are about to unfold. The king wishes to awaken Abaddon, the sleeping god, who is responsible for nearly ending human civilization. Defeated and desperate, she fights her way through the bonds of tyranny. Where she meets Victor, a man recently awakened from a 3,000-year cryogenic sleep.
Together, Sana and Victor journey to the Iron Forest to seek the goddess Gaia’s help. When Sana learns that success requires her to lead all the tribes to war and that she may lose Victor, she’ll have to decide if the price of victory outweighs defeat.

Fantastic presentation of a multilayered story.
This story seamlessly weaves themes and elements that I have enjoyed in other stories. It has the power struggle of game of thrones, the quests of LOTR and evil (are they evil, really?) computers of I, Robot. My favorite was when the space ship guy wakes up with no memory. Very reminiscent of Project Hail Mary. The performance by the narrator was great. I generally don’t care for female narrators but she does a great job and her voice fits the story. She reminds me of Rosario Dawson reading Artemis. I didn’t think I’d like it but the voice fits the story. I enjoyed it very much and will be listening to the next ones to come.
