Complex and deep story
The first volume ot this book was slow, I wanted to stop it. The second half of first volume was interesting.
This volume, the second one slowly built up the background of the main characters and the real action starts at third volume.
It absolutely worth to read but give enough time to the story to grow up.
The narrator was perfect, she used different tones.

Narrator was great. SJM is my favorite author but Laurie Forest gave me one of the best stories I've read since crescent City.

A whirlwind of emotions
Brilliant and amazing just like the first book! Those last 100 pages destroyed me! My heart broke and I cried. Then cried some more. Then ugly cried. My mouth dropped at least a dozen times. The world building and storytelling is truly mastered. The character arcs are incredible as well as the creatures described. Each book has small battles as well as setting up for the war. I can’t wait to dive into the next one! Six stars! Rarely do I get hooked like this and even rarer do I believe a series is this brilliant. I don’t think Laurie could have done any better. She sets the bar for a magical world. No one has done it better. If you love Harry Potter, then these books will captivate you. They’re better in every way.
