In 1723, in London, England a very normal man named Augustus Croatoan is soon going to encounter an extraordinarily evil, and a horrible realization.
Augustus wants nothing more than to live a successful life. He loves his wife, Dalia, whom he calls the love of his life. His best friend, Levi, is someone he trusts implicitly, and he has rapidly ascended the ranks in his career.
Augustus is a happy man. Life is good.
Until…
Until the first day he notices the thick, strange fog that brings with it the scent of rot, and something darkly evil. Until the days go by and the fog becomes more prevalent.
Until Augustus realizes the life he thought he led, is nothing but a fictitious sham and strangely, the answers to his anger and frustration might just lie within the darkness he finds inside the fog.
Before the arrival of the rapidly appearing mists containing insidious horrors, Augustus is a man who lives in the present celebrating the life he has crafted for himself. Now, with whispers of men with red eyes and bloodthirsty fangs hunting in the night, Augustus knows all he has worked for is on the verge of ending. Following a trail of clues, he seeks the identity of the monster who masks himself inside the bank of fog. Augustus knows he will have no choice but to confront the ultimate horror.
And when his life crumbles, he will have to make a decision. Is the life he has, his real life, worth fighting the darkness that calls to him, or should he embrace the allure of the monster who comes for him?
Long before the vampire Croatoan came to the plains of Eastern Colorado in 2020, he was a normal man facing cunning evil, and the most horrible of decisions.
