What a great paring for this novella

This is such a good story and Nick Cracknell did an absolutely awesome job! Really hope this story continues with Jackstons son Dunnan and the narrator still Nick Cracknell. Well done!

A Great Short Story

I really enjoy this author, but especially like these short stories. I can listen to them all in 1 afternoon & not forget where I left off...this was just a great story & well narrated...I loved it!

a young maid from boys cruelty. His
heart felt a spark for the young, lovely
maid.
Jackson's kind heart and compassion stands
up to Lezelle, when she beats the maid.
This is a wonderful Novella!

This was a great little novella. A Knight of no truer heart who knows his heart who always will do the right and honorable thing. Regardless of results.

It seemed to me like this one might have been one of her earlier stories. It was ok, but not nearly as in depth as her more current novels.

I really liked this. I wish it was longer.

The Narrator sounds a lot like Carey Ewles. He was very easy to listen to.

Short and good.

Short and very good story dealing with finding out the true nature of a person. This man gives his pledge to marry a headstrong girl at a very young age. This was during a time when he didn't understand what giving his pledge could and would mean in later life. His family asks him to meet with this girl after they have both grown up. He doesn't want to marry and he's not sure if he wants to marry this girl after all these years. He visits her and finds she is nothing like he desires, not in looks or actions. She is cruel and mean-spirited with her servants and not what he wants in a wife. This girl's father also tried to rush him into marriage because he knew his daughter was not what most men of this time wanted. The dilemma is whether he will stand up for himself or be pushed into this marriage for the sake of his family's honor. He has also met the woman he does want to marry in the form of a servant.

You will find yourself holding your breath waiting to hear the outcome. I had almost given up that he would do the right thing, but by the end, I got the HEA I was looking for. Yes, worth a credit even if it was short.
