Endowing his protagonists with Christian virtues, he also incorporated themes of grace and mercy.
Tolkien's deep faith and creative philosophy emerge from the narrative as an unmistakable Catholic presence. The very foundation of Tolkien's Middle-earth, from its creation by Iluvatar, the one God, to angel-like Melkor's sinful rebellion, to the menacing presence of Sauron, the dark lord, supports Professor Pearce's argument for the Catholicity of the work. Concise and profound review of Tolkien and Lord of the Rings! I realize these are lectures by the author, but I suggest he have someone else read the text due to dialectal issues.

Amazing!
I loved it! I learned so much that I never knew! As a constant reader of Lord of the Rings, I enjoyed learning more about my favorite series! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Lord of the Rings! It honestly could not have been better.

Excellent companion for The Lord of the Rings
Having read (listened to) The Lord of the Rings after watching the movies, I wanted to read the books again. This was a good insight into some of the themes and symbols in the book that will help in getting even more out of the second reading.

Great analytics
The author had a great understanding of Tolkien and the Catholic faith. He did an amazing job of analyzing every nuance of Tolkien of his clear meanings and somewhat hidden meanings of Characters and events. The author/soaker’s accent although beautiful, it was at times difficult to understand if you aren’t from the UK. Other than that the author did an amazing job.
