The reckoning!
Link and Rick, two former Marines who were arbitrarily released from service when the U.S. pulled out of the Middle East. They figured they had something coming for the years of service they gave the country. Link’s girlfriend Diane recognized a mafioso character on the television who also rented a safe deposit box at the bank where she worked. Conversation amongst the three went from curiosity to what might be in the box, to lighthearted daydreaming of mob money, to seriously thinking of robbery. Disruption of utilities in the downtown section of the city supplied the perfect opportunity. The contents of the safe deposit box did not provide the trio with the relaxation of a tropical beach and a margarita that Diane was yearning for. Quite the contrary, they were both surprised and disappointed. The surprise would lead them into more trouble than they bargained for. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
