Good characterization, visually strong.

I enjoyed listening to this. I thought the narrator did a pretty good job with a Virginia/ North Carolina accent. That’s normally what turns me off in an audiobook featuring Southerners. Non-Southeners should NEVER narrate a novel set in the South. The storyline was very interesting, but went down a rabbit hole at the end. I think I might have added the ending as an epilogue and shortened it up somewhat. Don’t really get the title.

Story is good but performance is grating

I stopped listening a third of the way through because the accents and inflections are so off putting and inaccurate. I’m just going to read the book because the story is compelling.

What happened

I loved the storyline, I could see the characters.. But i had to reread the end a few times..

Worst accent ever!

The story is good but the narrator’s interpretation of a southern Virginia accent is absolutely the worst. It’s a disgrace really. It ruined this audio book for me. I’m southern and Virginian and I don’t know where the heck this accent came from. Ugh.
