From Normandy to the Rhine, the 1,100 men of the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops, known as the Ghost Army, conjured up phony convoys, phantom divisions, and make-believe headquarters to fool the enemy about the strength and location of American units. Such great and accomplished men
As with many men of the “greatest generation”, so many of them went on to live amazingly successful lives and careers. What they did in the war, was completely new and novel. I highly recommend the book, I only wish it was a bit longer and the men and unit were honored sooner while more were still alive.
