Finally. A fantasy in the same flavor as GoT

Ive been looking for a book like song of ice and fire for ages. This one comes pretty close with some morally ambiguous characters and political intrigue. Although not as hard hitting and dark as ASOIAF, its a strong start!

Fantastic Read!

A fantastic read from the first word to the last. Some books take time to pull you in. Some never do. The Fury of Kings pulled in me right away and held me hostage until I'd consumed this book in its entirety. I absolutely enjoyed this book, which has earned its way into my top 10 books of the year. I'm eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series.

A fantastic debut

I've waded through a lot if mediocre epic fantasy this past year, so this one was a refreshing change. To begin with, the quality of the prose, the character development, plot and pacing... all masterful in their execution.

There's a great blend of action and a larger, compelling " behind the scenes" story all coupled with gritty realism.

The world development is good, coupled with an interesting magic system and the story leaves me craving more.

The narrarator was excellent, and unusual 5 stars all around!

Great Series

I own over 300+ titles, nearly all fantasy. It is thus incredibly difficult to find new, quality material to listen to. This series is a hidden gem. Best new series of the year for me. Top 50 or so overall.

Awesome Start

great beginning to a series. great job of finishing book one in a nice little bow

great narrator

the story is okay.... Good most of the time a little bit infuriating other times. the narrator is extremely good and makes this story easy to listen to.

Droned on and on

May be the book would’ve been good if the performer wasn’t soooooo monotonous and boring. Very disappointed
