Acerca de esta escucha
Set in today's political climate, Derrick learns political strength is needed to ensure the sustainability of his civic-minded conglomerate, and prevent the blockage of future projects that threatens to supplant the business powers that be. In the fight for political power, his mother spearheads the grass-roots voting initiative to change the leadership in Congress.
Erich Hornsby, the neo-Nazi chairman of the business powers, plots Derrick's murder and manipulates the voters to elect his puppet, John Donaldson, president. In full control of the White House, Hornsby attempts to raise the Fourth Reich.
This realistic tale of disproportionate wealth and political tribalism, encompasses drama, romance, spirituality, and philosophy. When you look into the mirrors of life, what will you learn about yourself? What will you learn about your life?

Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

Historia
When Boady Sanden first receives the case of Elijah Matthews, he’s certain there’s not much he can do. Elijah, who believes himself to be a prophet, has been locked up in a psychiatric hospital for the past four years, convicted of brutally murdering the pastor of a megachurch. But as a law professor working for the Innocence Project, Boady agrees to look into Elijah’s file. When he does, he is alarmed to find threads that lead back to the death of his colleague and friend, Ben Pruitt, a man shot to death four years earlier in Boady’s own home.

In late 2006, Saket Soni, a 28-year-old, Indian-born community organizer received an anonymous phone call from an Indian migrant worker inside a Mississippi labor camp. He and 500 other men were living in squalor in Gulf Coast “man camps,” surrounded by barbed wire, watched by armed guards, crammed into cold trailers with putrid portable toilets, forced to eat moldy bread and frozen rice. Worse, lured by the promise of good work and green cards, the men had desperately scraped together up to $20,000 each to apply for this “opportunity”.

Elaine Brown assumed her role as the first and only female leader of the Black Panther Party with these words: “I have all the guns and all the money. I can withstand challenge from without and from within. Am I right, Comrade?” It was August 1974. From a small Oakland-based cell, the Panthers had grown to become a revolutionary national organization. How Brown came to a position of power over this paramilitary, male-dominated organization, and what she did with that power, is a riveting, unsparing account of self-discovery.

Historia
The Missing JFK Assassination Film is not the typical JFK assassination book. This book does not attempt to answer the question of who killed John F. Kennedy; instead it addresses why we should question the actions of those involved and why the truth was withheld from the people. Though copies of Orville Nix's film exist, the original film is missing. Why? The FBI confiscated Orville's camera for several months, then returned it in pieces. Were these actions sinister, or were they just examples of governmental incompetence?

An outstanding story! 👏
I've enjoyed many stories about real life, but Neal Owen's story, Mirrors of Life (book 1 & 2) really stood out among so many of the others. The characters and their struggles, along with good fortune, captivated me from beginning to the end. The stories will take you through a journey of many emotions as the brilliant narrator, Charles Gray, brings everything to life. I highly recommend both books to all lovers of fantastic writing! BRAVO 👏 👏 👏

Insightful and Chilling
This political thriller isn't for everyone because some of the content will offend some who try to be honest with their reviews, and unfortunately because of human nature, a star or two will be taken away. For example, it's said of the fictional president whose name is John Donaldson, that if you vote for him, you are either a racist of a fool. That comment from a fictional character will offend some reviewers who are supportive of the current president because they believe John Donaldson is president Trump. For them to believe that, things said and done by the fictional character have played out in real time.
If you are opened-minded and believe in social justice, this cross-genre novel is insightful and chilling. The printed version is deserving of 5 stars. The narration by Broadway Performer, Charles Gray, is nothing less than 5 stars.

Such high hopes
As a representative of AudioBookReviewer.com here is a review on The Fight for Political Power written by Neal Owen. After reading the summary of this book I was excited. Unfortunately aside from the relationship between the protagonist and his mother nothing felt natural or creative. It felt like the author was pandering to what he thought his audience would want and not focusing on moving the story along. Between getting bogged down in unnecessary details, excessive amounts of Bible quotes and moments of bland dialogue, this story failed to maintain a cohesive direction.
The setting and background fell flat for me as well. This book series isn't set in today's political climate like it claims, it is an exact copy of today's political climate. The only differences being some name changes and a few but fair liberties taken for the antagonists. This was more of a "ripped from the headlines" law and order style of world building making it feel like little to no effort was taken.
Charles Gray as a narrator is the saving grace of this read. Charles Gray delivered a great performance. Pacing and character emotions were well portrayed.
Editing, quality, and production were on par with most books I have listened to. It was clear, no issue with sound or quality.
