An addictive psychological thriller packed with twists

Every family has secrets. The Dorseys bury theirs.

Sabrina Adams thought her luck had finally turned around when she was hired as a librarian for the wealthy Dorsey family. But as soon as she arrives at their elegant estate, she senses something is off. They have cameras everywhere. She’s banned from the third floor, and she spotted someone watching the house from the nearby woods. And why does the housekeeper, Mrs Manning, insist on so many rules?

Then police officers arrive at the door with questions about the disappearance of a local woman. Sabrina is shocked to learn her charming employer, Theo Dorsey, was the last person to see the missing woman alive. He insists he’s innocent. Despite her growing doubts, Sabrina keeps her head down because she desperately needs this job. But then Theo is linked to another woman’s death several years before. And after finding out no one has seen the Dorsey’s previous librarian in years, she has to ask herself... Who can I trust in this family? And will I be next?

A gripping and utterly compulsive psychological thriller that will delight fans of Verity, The Housemaid and anything by Lisa Jewell.

Most enjoyable

Especially refreshing in this story was the non binary approach to race. The emphasis instead upon the personality of each character which the narrator brought excellently and delightfully to life. the story was interesting right from the beginning and kept me engaged throughout. The ending was quite a SURPRISE, we all love a few twists and this story does not disappoint!

The twists have twists!

Angela Henry is becoming a new favorite author of mine. I've read two of her books so far and have loved each one. She knows how to spin a thriller with twists throughout and a banger at the end. Her writing is fluid, the chapters are short, and she keeps you wanting more.

The lies in the Dorsey family run deep, but I can't go into details the way I want to because I don't want to risk revealing any spoilers.

Sabrina has no idea what she's up against when she agrees to live on the Dorsey estate for two years while she restores the family library. Theo is allegedly a serial killer. There's mystery men trespassing on the estate and unsettling occurrences happening in and outside the home.
