Just as excellent as book one!
I really loved this sequel. It was just as awesome as the first book. When I read The Valiant, it took me some time to get used to the narrator and the story, but this time it all seemed natural. The pacing was faster, and the story didn’t suffer from second book syndrome at all. I read it in one sitting and I’m already highly anticipating the next one.

Underwhelming after book 1
I loved The Valiant, but the story of this book felt a bit forced and lacked the overall magic of book 1. I rushed to finish it. I'd still love to hear more from this author.
