Acerca de esta escucha
The Church that God Made is a cumulative tale, retelling the salvation story.
The church that is referred to in this poem is not a building, but multiracial, multicultural, and diverse human beings. These diverse people are the ones for whom the son shed his blood, and to whom the spirit testifies of the father who generously gave his only son. “Men filled with lies” refers to the human race, who have been consumed with greed, pride, lust, and all other sins. The cross is where the son was crucified as a sacrificial lamb. After his death, he was resurrected and transformed into the triumphant king of kings. “Almighty God” refers to father, son and spirit--the triune god--who worked in perfect unity to accomplish this great and awesome work of freeing mankind from the eternal penalties of sin.
