In November 2021, Eve and Patrick grow uneasy when they read an article about the arrest of a strange, disoriented woman on the Lower East Side. Based on the descriptions of her clothing and behavior, Eve is sure the woman has time traveled. She convinces Patrick they must help the woman, as others had helped them during their time travel journeys.
In guarded conversations at the police station, they learn that 27-year-old Annabelle Palmer did indeed light a lantern and time travel from 1904. They post bail for her and invite her to stay with them while she recovers and adjusts.
As the days pass, Patrick grows more and more suspicious that Annabelle is not telling the entire truth about her past. When Annabelle asks if she can use their time travel lantern to return home, they agree, wanting her out of their lives.
The morning Annabelle is to light the lantern and disappear into the past, she commits an unthinkable crime and then vanishes. Eve and Patrick are devastated and enraged, and Patrick vows revenge.
Once again, the couple must light the lantern and pray it will deliver them to the same time and place as Annabelle. But, as always, the lantern is unpredictable.

Another great story. I love the series.
I love this series and hope you do a book a year. I felt like this one had more twists and turns which was cool. The narrator is equally superb. It wouldn’t be Christmas season without the Gantley’s so keep them coming. ☺️

Ending…?
I enjoyed the series and I read it back to back. The ending is a little disappointing… I realize that perhaps I feel this way because I don’t want it to end. But, an epilogue would’ve been nice!! All the other books had one!

Never tire of this ongoing story!!
One of my favorite I hope she never stops writing this series of books!! Eve and Patrick are so loveable I love when she brings Jonnie back into the story too!! Start with book one you won't be sorry!! My only complaint is that I now have to wait a year for the next installment :) Praying there is another one!!

End of an enchanting series
I listened to all of these in the lead up to Christmas of 24. It was pure escapist fun but also made me think about the choices we make & how it affects our lives. The characters were fully 3D, historical details were excellent. All of them were page turners! Definitely recommend.

Love this series
My favorite is the first book but each addition makes the story better. Great narration. Fun book to listen to.
