The story was hard to understand from the beginning I almost stopped it. in the middle I was able to see it was about abuse passed from Parents and the cycle of abuse manifested in all of them in some form.

Great book!!!

I loved this book! I felt every emotion there is while listening.
And then January LaVoy AND Bahni Turpin narrating!!??? I was in heaven!

Slow, but worth finishing

It was a little slow, but interesting enough that I wanted to finish the book.

Great story, wonderful narration!

Ignore any nay sayers, this is a great story of how families can be broken but heal.

Beautiful , haunting story of life and recovery. Surviving what has been done to us and finally breaking free and living.

What happens when the lives of those around you have to suffer through your life choices.

Writing and narration were very good. Leaves you wanting more. I will look for more by this author. Excellent.

The duality of self discovery & family

This books perfectly expresses the duality of balancing self preservation & setting family boundaries. It was a refreshing take on common issues & uniting black families.

I really enjoyed this story. The voice actors were very good. The story is good. Interesting characters that I could care about and the story was engaging. I would like to find more stories with these voice actors. Anissa Gray did a good job. I hope she writes more books.

I so struggled to finish this book. the story moved way to slow for me.
