Solid story. No idea how it was going to turn out.

Well conceived. Well narrated. Love the authors writing style. Some light laugh moments but mostly serious and descriptive. As an American I like the British terms like torch, boot, punter, tart, and descriptive sayings that are different but understandable and kinda funny to hear.

The details

This book was written after much research was done. It really makes our life seem even more simple and safe. I live in the USA and we have troubles but not like the ones in this book. The narrator is a magician with his voice.

Loved this story

The narrator once again performed exceptionally! The story this time with the same detective who was trying to find missing children getting caught up in an Albanian mafia mix up was so thrilling and exciting

Disjointed and horrifying

Loved his first. but this one is a self indulgent and fragmented mess. I can picture him getting drunk with his cronies and making a bet that he can sell a book that repeats the word "Albania" 6000 times. Was it that many? Probably more like 8000

Worth a listen if you enjoyed the first book, but..

Don’t start this book unless you’re willing to commit to the third as well. Haven’t started book three yet, but “Body on the Shore” just sort of stopped. Didn’t feel finished at all, and the ending seemed more like the end of a tv episode than a 10+ hour novel. Was waiting for the teaser for the next episode to at least ease my mind more answers will come. But nope. And the summary of book three doesn’t seem to have any clear references to this book. So I’ll press on to the next and hope for a more complete resolution.

It’s starts a little slow but worth the listen

I enjoyed this book. At first I wasn’t sure what was going on but once the story kicked in I enjoyed it. I didn’t listen to books 1-3 first which may have contributed to my slower understanding. The narrator is great with voices and easy to distinguish the characters. Looking forward to listening to more in the series.

I really liked the whole thing including the beginning and the end for all that the police officer had to do to get to the convictions!

Terrible narration, excellent plot

This is the second of this series I have read. If I didn’t like the main character and the author’s plotting, I would have given up after a few minutes into the first book. The narrator is fine when reading the story but, without exception, his character voices are awful. Most of them are laughable - his women sound especially ridiculous - and his attempts at accents, including that if the main character are like caricatures.

Very impressed with Albanians who took the Hatfields and McCoys to new levels; especially the nine year old child whom I'd have welcomed to my FAC team in Vietnam. Disgusted by the narscissistic scissoring fag Rigby.
