Loved it

I loved the story about Charlotte and Harry both of them had a lot of growing to do. They manage that by traveling to America then west on the wagon train. The one thing that disappointed me was the narrator,. The first time he used Charlotte’s voice, I bike out in laughter. It grew on me as the story continued, I heard better women’s voices done by male narrators. When I wasn’t distracted by the voice I was really into the story.

Journey from England to Cutter's Creek

This takes place in England and has all the feels of an Regency Era story. Until Harry and Charlotte both leave home on the same day to escape their home situations and decide to head to America. Most of the book is about their journey to Cutter's Creek and the many adventures they had while taking a wagon out west. Harry and Charlotte have a connection, but Charlotte's station in England prevents either Harry or Charlotte from moving forward into a life together.

Very enjoyable sweet romance. This entire series has been full of winners. The narrator did well with pacing, voices and the entire narration in general. I am looking forward to continuing the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

What a story!

This historical romance is not like any other that I have ever listened to. It starts out as a regency romance as Charlotte leaves England to escape an arranged marriage. She ends up in New York to find herself in a financial mess and ends up crossing the states to Montana with Camilla and Harry to the "old west". I loved the transitions of the story, each having Charlotte grow a little more into the woman she becomes. The story really picks up a lot when they start out on the wagon train, adding some real romance and suspense to the mix. The characters are well developed, but I especially loved Harry. His character really transformed over the course of the story, and he not only won Charlotte's heart, but mine too. It takes a strong woman to go through what Charlotte did, and Vivi Holt really pulls out all the stops, showing how affairs of the heart are not dictated by arrangement or class. Well written and a complete joy to listen to.

Paul Curtis does an admirable narration. He has a good pace though at times his voices were not easily discernible between characters. As the story progressed, his narration improves, and makes the book a pleasant escape.

Historical Romance Story

This is book 7 in the Cutter's Creek. I haven't read the first books in the Series. This is a Historical Romance, with a make-believe couple. This is the story of Harry and Charlotte. Unfortunately, the story didn't get my attention. The narration wasn't easy to listen to and the characters weren't easy to discern along the story. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

A fantastic soul searching story

This is book 7 in the series . And what a book 7. It brings 2 parts of the world together . The worlds are an ocean apart but they are joined by 2 characters

Hero is Harry . Heroine is . Larry Charlotte .

Lady Charlotte was put into a situation that she didn’t want. You ask what an arranged marriage. That’s what the upper crust of English scocity did back then. She broke it off and ran. She meet 2 other commoners a man and his sister that had more in common with her . They set sail to the New World . Lady Charlotte ended up in New York . While there she was ruined , everything was stolen from her. . She had to do what she had to to make a go of it . So the 3 of then set out on a stage coach , going to Montana to some relatives. Along the way that is where Lady Charlotte and Harry decide to play make-believe couple ...
Do the pretend turn to real.

Paul the narrator was good , his voice got stronger along the audio. His voice was clear

The Betrothed

It starts as a regency romance, with Lady Charlotte being forced into an arranged marriage, and ends as a beautiful western romance in the Montana territory. I really enjoyed how the story transitioned as we journeyed half way around the world. Seeing Charlotte and Harry (and Camilla) grow throughout the journey really added to my enjoyment.

A sweet romance in an odyssey from England to Montana

The Betrothed tells of friendship in an odyssey from England to Montana and an unlikely romance that blossoms in the new world where titles no longer make the man. This is a clean romance with a sprinkling of religion (but not in an obtrusive way).

The narrator of the audiobook sounds like a cowboy, though he does accents for the characters. I'm not sure how well that fits this particular story. He does a nice job of reading the book though.

Adventures!

I have enjoyed this audiobook. A romance that’s filled with adventures and has some faith filled, redemptive qualities too. Starting out in England Charlotte is expected to marry well and her Father and Mother insisted she go through with her wedding. So she decided to take matters in her own hands and ended up in New York. With her friends from home, Harry and Camille, she survived. I loved all three of the main characters and I loved the narrator. Charlotte and Harry were so funny sometimes and I think Camille evened them out. Either way I enjoyed their adventures and I didn’t know what they were going to do next. Oh and I’m always in the mood for reading a little about the wagon trains.
If you like Historical Romance you will probably enjoy this book.
I won a copy of this audiobook in a contest. All opinions are my own.
