Meandering pointless violence isn't enough

There wasn't a storyline to hold on to. Could have been written by an AI bot sampling seasons 1 and 2 with a last minute human editor hired to try and sequence the mess.

Didn’t feel like galaxy’s edge

I like that the authors want to move on from their previous story lines and characters (I think they wrapped them up well), and I do intend on continuing to listen to every book they put out. That being said, this book didn’t stand up against their previous works. There were parts with incredible writing and story telling. Unlike what some of the other reviewers have said, I did really enjoy the flashbacks and exposition in the book. I can see that they are setting a lot up (they tend to explore little bits of plot aside from the main story of each book to tie their novels together), but I felt like the main plot of this book was pretty weak. Also, the narrator is not a good fit for GE books. I’ve struggled with his narration in this universe. He is a great narrator with a great voice, but it comes off as too flat when he reads it. It makes it hard to pay attention at times.

This material is not suitable for Mark Boyett. Something is missing. Storyline is weak so far

Space apocalypse now

It's as if the writer just finished re-reading Apocalypse now and was like I don't exposition the reader to death the first ½ of the book.

What the F?

I have read every book in this universe, I own them all on kindle and audible. Some books and series are stronger than others but generally I’ve enjoyed them. I didn’t enjoy this one. I listened to this book in one session today, all the way through, and honestly the story is just weak.

The first hour or two started a really interesting storyline but, don’t worry, you can forget about that plot thread because it never returns to it. Then the middle of the book starts telling backstory.

Finally, in the last couple hours of the book it picks up and you’re like “yeah this is KTF right here”… But then all of a sudden sudden the whole last hour and a half of the book is another flashback scene for one of the soldiers, and it never returns to the battle that was being fought until there’s like six minutes left in the book. There is no conclusion.

On the other hand, the narrator‘s performance was pretty good, sadly, he didn’t have much of a story to work with. As far as galaxies’s edge books go this one was a huge disappointment.

season 3 needs some humor

love the series, still enjoy the military focused story, really missing the Keel, Leena, Derick, LoPac, prisma etc. chapters. I get where the story is going and I'll keep listening but if the whole series was like this I would have dropped it after two or three books.

This is not KTF

I love ktf it is my favorite of all audiobooks and that say a lot I listen to audiobooks every day during work so I can really go through them but this is not ktf This is a new story with new characters that mentions some people like chun and it reads like an after action report of what happens after the ktf series but it’s another series riding the coat tail of ktf there was one character mckoy that had a good story but the rest was like a b rate Michael bay movie. I was very sad about this one.
