Acerca de esta escucha
This guide was created as a quick start. It focuses on the essential and the special, the lodging, the regional food, sights and activities, the must-sees and must must-dos, and how to succeed at Spanish and build relationships.
Great people.
The Camino has a magical way of bringing people together. I have story after story of acts of kindness and compassion. The groups I have walked with also have shown this same spirt of compassion, and care.
The Wild West before the Wild West.
Spain was the Wild West before the Wild West moved west. Spain was a frontier to be tamed and conquered. In reality, there are a multitude of caminos, but the one I have chosen, el Camino Frances, is the most traveled, has the best infrastructure and the most services. Moreover, it has multiple points of interest, an incredible amount of history, and astonishing sites, landmarks, and museums. Walking Spain takes you through the lands where Hemingway fished and hunted, streets of Pamplona where the bulls run, roads the Romans built, passes Napoleon crossed, and paths pilgrims have traversed for more than a thousand years.
A simple itinerary to follow for each and every day.
I list the towns along each day’s walk, the mileage to get to each one, and which ones have bars (places to get coffee and breakfast). I list one albergue, for each stop, although you have many options. I usually include the name of a restaurant and a favorite menu item. I also typically include a main afternoon activity.
Everyone’s Camino is different. I will show you how to access APPs and links and where detailed information on each stop can be found. In this way, you can explore and create your own special pilgrimage.
