artificial intelligence is cool

this is a cool idea about the future of jobs in life around the world if computers keep progressing at a faster and faster rate. I wish it was true. robots aren't here yet but their capabilities discussed in this book are limitless.

Profound despondency

This book discusses mega social trends, such as wealth disparity, and it also expresses the sinister side of artificial intelligence.

I'd be fine with pure gloom and doom if the chapters had more coherence. There were too many rabbit holes in the story, such as the nation's debt crisis. In my view, these chapters were not made relevant to the subject of artificial intelligence. Maybe that was something the author intended to do but instead had to get the book out before finishing it.

The narrator was certainly competent but uninspired, in my opinion. Further, I experienced this narrator in 'Ender's Game', and that is one great performance. But every performance has to feel inspired and cannot be simply good pronunciation.

A must read for all!

Everyone should read this book. Great insight to where the world is going explained clearly for all to understand

Advancement of AI

As artificial intelligence advances all need to be aware of future consequences. Information is well documented and captivating.

Written just 5 years ago yet so outdated

So much has happened in the field of AI since this book was written. Wish the writer would do an update.

It’s ok

Although the material is interesting, it’s highly superficial and doesn’t touch on the actual applications and examples of how IA is really impacting society.
The second half is the book was mostly about socioeconomic topics and barely even touched on AI. It’s like the author wanted the book to be long but didn’t have the content so he went on a tangent

great book needs an update

loved this book it covered almost all of my questions as they emerged in my head. it was very through in its coverage of the coming effects of AI and its potential damaging effects to our economy etc.

Prophecy like me

I like the lift in awareness. I don’t like the potential of all humanity will be eliminated. And the AI supports lots like it said so much. I wrote a short story, several short stories that match what has been revealed. Isaac Asimov seems to have been spot on.

AI Contagion

A lot to think about in this book as to where we are headed as a society and mankind in general. My complaint regarding this book was the repetition. This length of book could have been shortened by 25 to 50 percent and would have provided the same message.
