Acerca de esta escucha

Romance writer Sarah Fleetwood is obsessed with the Fleetwood Flowers, five pairs of gold earrings that constitute a long-lost family treasure. According to the legend, shortly before her death, Emelina Fleetwood buried the earrings on her property and drew a map to the location. Now Sarah is determined to embark on a quest to find the flowers.

Ex-adventurer Gideon Trace doesn't want anything to do with Sarah and her quest for the Flowers, a fact he has repeatedly made clear ever since she first contacted him. Obviously his discouragement wasn't strong enough because now Sarah is standing at his front door insisting that he is just the man to lead her treasure hunt.

A woman who believes in happy endings is about to share a cozy cabin in the mountains with a man who is large, cold-eyed, and dangerous. What could possibly go wrong?

I love JAK books, in any form she writes them. I wish I could screenshot my library, just to prove my Fandom. So, for me to come down on this book is saying much.

I feel asleep 3xs. A 5 hour book (I have it set at 1.20 speed) took me 36 hours to get through. Me! Who will stay up through the night for a good JAK novel went to sleep on it like a lullaby. And the rest of the time?

Annoyed, annoyed, I say!!!
Annoyed with a supposedly highly intuitive Heroine who was just beyond naive.
Annoyed with a conniving Hero, that is so hurt at past betrayals, that he lets one of the betrayers back around.

And then, I went through the horror only to learn.....well, if you're silly enough to go on the journey, then you'll find out. All in all, disappointed. Because the first book of this series, The Pirate, is what made me get this one and I was tricked, I tell ye!

Heck to the nah, nah! This isn't the best JAK and I depend on you, too much, for a good story to get tricked.

Narration: Awesome, I'm just sorry she ended up doing the best job she could with the content she had to work with.

So disappointed

The story and characters are not as strong as I expected. I did not enjoy the narrators style the way I usually do. Had a hard time staying interested, and didn’t feel as involved or as connected as I normally do.

The Adventurer not as powerful as Ms Krentz books usually are.

I recently read the first book in this series, the Pirate, and found it to be extremely annoying! I was hoping that this story would be better but after only two chapters the heroine once again turned out to be a pushy, bossy woman who was very manipulative and sounded.like a prissy old maid! I think the narrator doesn't help matters as her voice makes heroine sound like a middle aged school marm from olden days lol!
Sorry, couldn't stand to listen to another stalkerish heroine who won't take no for an answer!!
Giving this book a miss!

Couldn't finish!

As GREAT as Pirate was this book was HORRIBLE! Between Sarah constantly psycho analyzing Gideon CONSTANTLY and one minute falling all over him next pushing him away was like fingernails down a chalkboard. I thought it was going to be a big treasure mystery not a HORRID romance novel. I made it to chapter 6 then deleted it!

All the psycho babble ruined this book!
