Hans tekster er på en gang filosofiske traktater skrevet i en hårdkogt og effektiv minimalprosa uden de store dikkedarer, om det menneskeliges principper, og samtidig er de også fabler om magtbalancen og mentaliteten i den kolde krigs USA (...) Nye laesere kan meget passende begynde her.

Trods de dystre fremtidsvisioner skriver Dick, så man bliver fanget ind i historien. Han skriver om temaer som overvågningssamfundet og menneskelighed og saetter ord på både frygt og håb. Men selvom han på den måde passer ind i 50'ernes kommunistforskraekkelse, er det ikke kun kommunismen, han griber fat i. Han ser også på USAs rolle som undertrykker af den enkelte borger, og dermed saetter han sig ud over det geografiske og bliver en af de bedste science fiction-forfattere, jeg har laest.
