Abandoned on the streets by a mother who doesn't want them, Maggie and her young brothers are forced into the cruel confines of the workhouse. When Maggie is forced to leave the workhouse, and her terrified brothers, behind to begin work as a seamstress, she vows to get her family back together.
But as the years pass, Maggie cannot find her brothers and fears she will never find them. As she is attacked one night leaving work, a kind gentleman, Luke, steps in to help her, refusing to leave her side. As Maggie recovers under his care, she has hope that her life can turn around. But someone in Luke’s life will do what it takes to get Maggie away from him, forcing Maggie to leave in the dark, cold night.
As Maggie's life continues to spiral downward, she knows she will never see Luke again. Will Maggie's life continue to unravel? Will she ever find Luke, the only man who showed kindness to her? Will she ever see her brothers again?

Deeply Moving
Maggie's journey from the harsh confines of a workhouse to the relentless search for her brothers and a better life is both heartbreaking and inspiring. The narrator beautifully brings Maggie's struggles, resilience, and fleeting moments of hope to life, making every twist and turn feel real. Luke’s kindness and the obstacles they face add depth to the story, keeping me rooting for Maggie until the very end. If you love historical fiction with strong, heartfelt characters, this is a must-listen!

A Thread of Hope and Heartbreak
Wow, The Abandoned Seamstress was a rollercoaster of emotions! I couldn’t put it down. Maggie’s journey from the gritty workhouse to the heartbreaking streets pulled me right in. Just when I thought things couldn’t get worse for her, she meets Luke—cue the “aww” moment—but life has other plans. It’s a gut-wrenching, yet hopeful read filled with love, loss, and the kind of perseverance that makes you root for Maggie with all your heart. If you’re into historical fiction with lots of drama and a touch of romance, this book is a gem! 💔🌹
