Wonderful

The more people you met from Bounty Bay the more you fall in love with the place and the stories that take place there. Gracie just arrived to New Zealand without work, money and a future planned and she metsGlenn and his two orphans nieces and his nephew, that are staying with after the major surgery his mother is been through. Glenn takes Gracie as his nanny to help him with the kids.will the y fall in love and have a happy future together. The audiobook is awesome

Heartwarming story about love, family, and New Zealand

Tracey Alvarez has once again written a wonderful book filled with real characters with real life problems, fears, and hopes. Owen Bennett, or Dr. O, is a local physician who has temporarily taken over the care of his 2 nieces and nephew while his mother recuperates. Gracie Cooper is kind of an itinerant world traveler, who comes home for a wedding and, through a series of events, is hired by Owen to help with the kids. They are drawn to one another, but neither wants a relationship or commitment, but that doesn't stop the attraction or sexual tension between them. This story revolves around their struggles to fight the attraction, the issues with a precocious child, a cute little boy, and the trials of a coming of age teenager, and with Gracie trying to find what she truly wants i her life. Ms. Alvarez has written a wonderful story that involves characters from previous books as well as some interesting new people. Ms. O'Toole does another amazing narrating job of adding depth and substance to the characters and their emotions. She capably captures the nuances in them and adds so much to an already good story. I really enjoyed these characters finding each other and their happy ever after. Ms. Alvarez has done it again with a winner and Ms. O'Toole has gotten even better too. I highly recommend this book to all romance lovers. The fact that it is set in New Zealand just makes it that much better!

Another fun series addition!

I am loving the characters of the Far North series just as much as the Due South ones!

Gracie Cooper, little sister of Glen from Know Your Heart , is at loose ends in her life. Unable to stomach staying with their overbearing and demanding father for even a weekend, she heads off to visit her big bro and his fiancee until her next job calls her...only she doesn't actually make it there, not really. She's waylaid along the way by two babysitter escapees, one who looks suspiciously like a human minion and the other who clearly needs a trip to the emergency room.

The emergency room where their uncle and temporary guardian, Dr. Owen "O is for Awesome" Bennett works. Coincidence? Of course not! How else can we throw these two obviously-opposites-but-still-clearly-meant-for-each-other people together? ;)

His babysitter has just quit, she needs a temporary job, the kids will go back to his mother's in two months...what could go wrong?

LOL...like you have to ask!

I adored Gracie and Owen (and all the different "O is for..." names that she and her friends will come up with throughout the book), and Morgan, Will (or William, never Willie, for a reason I agree with but that still makes me LOL), and Charlie (NOT Charlotte!) were such a fun group of kids--not at all plot-moppety. Watching Owen learn to loosen up once again and Gracie finally find some roots was such a good time. And Owen's ever-evolving "house rules" made me laugh out loud--and wince--because yeah, Legos hurt. I'm with you there, Dr. McDreamy.

Though the couples from the first two books do play roles here, this one would work fine as a standalone if you haven't had a chance to read them yet. (But read them later! Trust me, you won't be sorry.) And fortunately, there's still a few suspiciously single characters floating around town who clearly need their own HEAs, so there's good hope that we'll see more of Gracie, Owen, Morgan, Will, and Charlie in the future too :)

The audiobook, as always, is nicely narrated by Rose O'Toole. It adds an extra layer of fun to hear everything said in an authentic NZ accent.

Open Your Heart To Love!

Gracie, another member of the dysfunctional Cooper family (we met her brother Glen in Book 2), had been bouncing around Europe but has now found her way back to her childhood playground, Bounty Bay. Here she meets a group of children whose parents died tragically and whose uncle is also wrestling with his grief and feelings of loss. Although the interrelationships of characters from one book to the next provide a small town feel to the series (and there is continuity of action in the grander arc), each romance in the series stands alone beautifully. Narrator Rose O'Toole has come fully to grips with a light Kiwi accent which imparts the romance of New Zealand without burying us in the extremes of pronunciation variants, and convincingly acts the children with equal expertise as the lovers and their parents and grandparents, bringing to life this delightful novel. Each is better than the last!

Another Alvarez/O'Toole winner

Teach Your Heart is the third in the Far North series but can be read as a stand-alone. It is an opposite attracts romance with realistic conflict that didn’t contain too much drama. It was great to see Owen and Gracie slowly fall for each other and grow closer to Charlie, William, and Morgan at the same time. I enjoyed visiting a bit of New Zealand and learning some of its traditions, too. Ms. Alvarez does an excellent job of creating characters and communities that are easy to like and relate to. And Rosie O’Toole, the narrator, masterfully brought them all to life.

A Sweet Romance

This was a story of two people with very opposite backgrounds. Their adult lives were very different than their upbringing, but, they managed to find common ground while caring for Owen's nieces and nephew.

Gracie was able to tap into the fun loving, relaxed part of Owen that allowed him to not only open up to the kids, but to Gracie as well.

Owen and Gracie's friends helped her to recognize that she was more than a flighty female.

This was a pretty light hearted romance that was sweet, sexy, and funny. Definitely low level angst. The narration was pretty good. Normally this narrator immediately makes me forget the book is being narrated and pulls me into the story. For some reason, this time I spent some time listening more to her voice than the story. I'm not sure why, but I found it to be a bit more distracting than normal. It was probably just me. I was able to get right
back into the flow after a bit.
