Pleasant Despain travelled the world learning the stories that delight children around the globe. Included in this collection are folk stories from cultures as diverse as China, Peru, Japan, and Israel. Like the fables of Aesop, these tales are populated by mischievous animals and remarkable characters whose humorous mishaps teach lessons kids will relate to. There’s wisdom and wonder in stories like "The Bear Who Said North" and "The Astrologer and the Forty Thieves".
