Heart wrenching
I got this book because of the many videos the author did on TikTok about it. I was very intrigued. I usually don't buy books from authors I have never heard of. I am glad I gave this author a chance. This book was riveting. I could not stop listening to it.
The author did a fantastic job of pulling you into the story and making you love or hate the characters. Jesse Macbeth is a vastly underrated writer. Im surprised his work is not more well-known. it is safe to say that I am now a fan. I don't normally like the genre this particular book is in but I am eager to listen to his many other works.
keep exposing the truth and use your talent to give voice to the many voiceless victims of your father.

Emotional and Intense
It has been a long time since I have read/listen to a story that has made me scream in anger yet cry for the things that were done to these women. This story is intense and delves deep down into the world of prostitution and the underbelly of lives of some women who will do anything just to survive. These women went through absolute hell but they made it while others didn't only goes to show the strength and fight from within.
Please be forewarned this book deals with rape, incest, prostitution, racism and cold blooded murder so it is definitely not for the faint hearted. The story is well written and it does speak of the truth about love/hate relationships between victims and their abusers. I highly recommend this book to anyone who can handle it and over the age of 21. This is my honest unbiased review that I am voluntarily leaving of my own volition. I received this book for free upon my request but it has no bearing on my review.

An eye opener
This was a tough read as far the brutality of it. The world is harsh and this book is proof of it. What I can say however is this is an eye opener for those who do not know this part of life. From different upbringings. We all have a story and reasoning behind our madness and pain. Very humbling.

Hidden world uncovered
Truly a very detailed listen on a subject a lot of us know nothing about and turn a blind eye to.
Drawn in by the narrator who did an amazing job capturing the essence of each character.
