A lonely, bullied young girl finds friendship when she discovers a talking pebble, but when the safety of her magical world is threatened by the king bully from school, she must find a way to protect herself and her new friend.
Ten-year-old Amanda Greene doesn't fit in anywhere. Her mom has recently passed away, leaving her with a sad and lonely heart. But there is no one to turn to for comfort. Amanda's father is often away on business trips. Her teenaged sister Jane treats her with cruel indifference. And school is no better, where she is constantly teased and tormented by bullies.
To escape reality, Amanda creates fantasy stories. At least she is safe there. But little does she know that her whole world is about to change. There's a forest she passes by on her way home from school, and it begins to catch her attention.
What Amanda discovers there is a deepening mystery that will forever change her world. Now her fantasy stories are coming true as she uncovers an incredible treasure. She longs to share the secret with others, but she's certain they will only make fun of her. As she tries to battle the bullying at school and Jane's growing hostility, her magical world is suddenly threatened by danger.
Amanda has impossibly stumbled upon this magical world. Will holding onto it be possible?
