IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a book summary of The End of Alzheimer's by Dale Bredesen and not the original book. This summary serves best as a companion to the original and contains a chapter-by-chapter analysis, including key takeaways. This summary does not contain the full ReCODE program.

Alzheimer’s disease is largely preventable, and often reversible.

Those are bold statements, especially from a conventionally-trained neurologist. But Dale Bredesen, MD, seems to be no ordinary neurologist.

After more than 30 years of intensive research into the molecular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s (AD), and clinical experience caring for thousands of patients, Bredesen is convinced many of medicine’s central dogmas about dementia are misguided at best, and flat-out wrong at worst.

He disputes the fact that there is no effective treatment or prevention method for it, providing details of his extensive and highly successful research as evidence. Bredesen dissects the disease, highlighting many contributory factors - such as insulin resistance and nutrient optimization - that almost always go unmentioned in traditional treatment.

He closes his book with a reminder that once everybody knew a cancer survivor, but nobody could name an Alzheimer’s survivor. That has now changed.

(Disclaimer: This is NOT the original book. If you’re looking for the original book, it is available from Amazon and Audible.)

My husband, his mother and brother all died from
The affects of Alzheimer’s. My sister who is 15 months younger than me is in full memory care facility. I carry the genetic code also and now have begun symptoms of AD. A recent MRI and MRA show Microvascular Iscenmic Disease present. This summer it was helpful for me because of my limited ability to remember and focus. I especially liked how he repeats the chapter summaries that was very helpful thank you for a great book and a good reading

Helpful summary of book The End of Alzheimer’s

Focused summary of Dr Bredesen’s work and protocol. Touched on his ReCode protocol, but made no mention of his pre-dementia protocol…PreCode.

Case studies

I am Dr LOUISE Slabbert.
I am living with a father that has developed Alzheimer’s and Dementia due to cycling accidents that caused severe frontal lobe trauma.
His and my mother’s suffering was enough motivation to get this disease researched and adressed.
Our whole family has now been tested for the APOE4 geen. Unfortunately positive, but are now on the journey of preventing cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Dr Brederson’s book , this book is incremental in our journey.
It’s incredibly well written and is an intellectual masterpiece.
This is a definite must read for all whom takes their health serious.
It’s time that more healthcare providers start working and living to prevent disease and the suffering that comes with it.
Rather than just treating it in the same old ineffective ways.
Thank you

Immensely intellectual and inspiring

Loved this audio book. I am Starting to learn how to prevent Alzheimer’s in my life. My mom is 88 she tells me he mental faculties are diminishing, this may help her, Thanks. I will begin making changes and see if I can get me doctor to do the Alzheimer’s-oscopy testing like he recently did my colonoscopy. I will buy the printed book to have as a reference!

Concise enough. Use of clear words. It was enough , so I can skip the big book.

This summary is perfect for getting the short shrift on The End of Alzheimer’s. I learned what I needed in order to make a more concerted effort to change things in my life. However, having the entire book will be more helpful for sure. There was a lot of detail that I would like to review and research, testing that would be beneficial, and information I would like to pass on to friends and family, most of which needs further understanding.

Great for a quick look

I’ve read other related books, as my mother (87) has alzheimer’s . Some teach me how to cope with her... but THIS BOOK GIVES ME IDEAS HOW TO HELP HER! IT HAS ALSO SHOWN ME AND MY FAMILY HOWTO LOWER OUR POSSIBLE RISKS! PS We love all the recipies!!

Getting started!

I debated whether to get the full book on audible but changed my mind for two reasons: 1) my attention span is not that great and my mind would wander in a long book and I would probably daydream through most of it, 2) several reviewers on the full audio said it needed a pdf. I’m surprised one wasn’t furnished in such a book, one would have provided me a way to review and retain what I missed while daydreaming.

This summary audio was quite good and easy to follow and pay attention. On one particular chapter he gave a good summary but admitted there was too much important information to get into a summary; he said if that information was the main reason for getting this summary, the listener can always return it for a full refund (and get the book maybe?). I was quite happy with the summary and won’t be returning for a refund.

Very good for us with short attention spans

As a daughter of an Alzheimer’s patient I am always looking for more research on how to possibly prevent myself from getting it. This book gave me practical ways to change my habits in such a way to set myself for the best health possible. I listened to the summary and am heading to the store to buy it in hard copy so I can refer back to often! This book gave me hope!

This is life changing!

I would highly recommend this overview. The actual book is a lot of information to digest and this makes it easy to understand all that is needed to start the recode program.

It’s powerful information if you can digest that it’s a major life change
