Acerca de esta escucha

STORM OF SUSPICION: The Karen Read Murder Trials is both an electrifying, real-time courtroom thriller and the gripping personal account of author Kevin Lenihan’s detailed examination of the evidence—both known and what he’s discovered—as well as the dark rumors, courtroom bombshells, and conspiracy theories that are at the heart of two of the most explosive and controversial murder trials of the decade.

The case began in the midst of a massive snowstorm in 2022 and ended the first time in a mistrial. Now, more than two years later, it is poised to ignite in a Boston courtroom once again.

At question is whether Karen Read, a 43-year-old college professor, is responsible as charged for the cold-blooded murder of her boyfriend, John O’Keefe, a Boston police officer? Or was she framed, by the real killer—another cop—covering his tracks with the help of a corrupt law enforcement establishment?

In STORM OF SUSPICION, Lenihan, the COURT TV expert commentator in the case, breaks down the key evidence and shocking conspiracy theories from the first trial. Then he does a deep dive into how the new trial will be fought by both sides, as well as in the court of public opinion, with new revelations, unanticipated twists, and a storm of suspicion.

Excellent read. Honest, to the point, and thoroughly investigated, I realized how much that money is a huge motivation for spewing non truths. Humanity is such a disappointment at these times. Thank you Kevin

A well researched, well told account of how a hit and run death becomes twisted into an unbelievable tale of murder.
It’s amazing, gripping, sad and disturbing all at once.

Unreasonable doubt

The novel by Kevin Lenihan begins with the shocking murder of a police officer, which deeply affects a small town near Boston, leading to divisions among the community regarding the guilt of Karen Read, the officer's girlfriend. The author intricately reveals the complexities of the case, highlighting how public perception and mob mentality can influence justice and truth, while also engaging readers with a compelling narrative that explores the aftermath of the crime and using logic that one could come with a verdict beyond a reasonable doubt. Hard to be this is a true story; but it is. So, few are telling this side of the story ... is it because those fear the mob? Has our justice system evolved to jury by public court?

Despite knowing the case well and following Kevin on his Cottage Tales Channel and watching him on Court TV; I wondered whether reading the novel would be beneficial. However, I was interested in his writing and was hooked from the 1st Chapter. Kevin is one of the few brave souls to tell this side of the story, thank you Kevin for the Novel. Well done, I was hooked right from the 1st chapter ... it did not disappoint.

Brave ENOUGH to tell this SIDE of the Story

Kevin is a breath of fresh air on this topic. He always keeps it logical and rational,. His YouTube is great. And you can’t beat Kevin Pierce for narration!

Engrossing story and impressive writing. I loved how the author looped in other interesting cases and his own story. I also appreciated subtle quips of appropriate humor. I’ll be looking for another audiobook from this author on other cases he covers, or perhaps a sequel as this cases evolves.
The narration is read a bit fast for me, as the narrative is packed with information. I found myself backing up several times to make sure I didn’t miss or misunderstand anything that was being read.

Loved it! Binged it!

Combed thru all the nonsense the defense put into the atmosphere to taint the jury pool and confirmed what I already knew. Karen is guilty.

Parts hard to follow but overall I really liked this writer’s perspective and appreciate his writing style. I learned a lot from him with regard to thinking ones way through a conspiracy theory. I’m glad I read this book.

Great new perspective

Wow, if you like for a book to be good for 1/3 of it's length, this is the book for you. major repetition for thickness, which may work in paper form but man, when you give something 9 hours of your time to listen, you don't wanna hear the same thing over and over. I found it irritating that he did a lot of double talk and the bias for the state is overwhelming. Again, for a little while he did okay to temper this, but man does it come out thick once he lets go.

let me just say this, anyone that thought Trooper Paul was good at his job, and actually had something negative to say about ARCCA, simply should not say it out loud. I have worked with the guys from ARCCA on a case and they are the real deal. if they say it could not happen....it could not happen. Trooper Paul should be writing parking tickets and I say that honestly with the fear he showed in court, I would worry about a trooper on the road with that anxiety.

what was that?
