Death is another theme that runs throughout the book, as the author grapples with the inevitability of our own mortality and the loss of loved ones. In "The Windowpane", the author reflects on the pain of losing a child and having that grief linger around, saying, "He was abandoned by the dancing air in his nostril/On the floor, by the window, they found our son/They left with him, and he stayed on the hill/He rests by the window for the door to reopen/In the house, waiting on the hill."
Through it all, the author's words are a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, reminding us that even in the face of the greatest hardships, we can find hope and healing. With this powerful and moving collection of poetry, the author invites listeners to explore the depths of the human experience and discover the beauty that lies within.
