The moon hung like a crimson eye in the velvet sky, casting long, skeletal shadows over the dilapidated church that stood sentinel in the ancient graveyard.

And then he arrived, a hunter with a heart of fire, a soul forged in the crucible of faith and armed with the weapons of holy water and a silver cross.
