Narrator issues

Like the first book in this series, the story is good, characters well developed. I just can't take the high pitched, monotone voices of the female characters. Most female narrators do just an ok job with male characters. Ms Rowan is great with male characters. I just can't listen to another minute of Mini Mouse when I'm trying to believe in a strong female lead.

Good Story but narration...work

Ruth Cardello is an excellent writer and this is a good story. However, the narrator's version of Kenzi's voice is sometimes that of a ten year old and at others, it sounds like an imitation of Marilyn Monroe in Some Like it Hot. I found that distracting.

Narration.

Narration needs different female voice. Sounds way to needy, shrilled, you, scared. Really takes away from story. Female needs more mature voice. Not childlike. Really ruined stories for me

Story was ok. Narrator not so much!

The narrator’s was decent when she spoke normal. But I almost didn’t listen to this story because of Kenzie’s voice. It was very annoying

I have read several of this author's books and I feel that they just keep getting better and better.

A visit to old friends

A meeting on a beach between a very drunk woman and a man that had felt a tug towards her, when she passed by, results in one very romantic, tumultuous and endearing love story.
Ms Cardello was one of the first author's I encountered through digital books. I find, when I need a time of peace, rereading one of Ms Cardello's stories, relaxes and soothes my soul. Her new books are as restorative as her original series.

Lead female character voice is horrible!

The story was interesting but the voice the reader used for the lead female was so childlike and weak. The other character voices were good but the main character sounding like a child on helium just ruined the story.
