It's possible her death was a suicide, but her body was never found. And as Beau begins to investigate, he discovers that no one connected to Janice - not her once all-star football player widower, Anders; not her long-grieving, sister, Estelle; not sheriff Gavin Loper, who was deputy sheriff at the time of Janice's disappearance; and not Anders' second wife, Betsy - is exactly what they seem. The question is, which of them knows the truth?

Short but oh so good
This novella is short but captivating. Highly recommended. Loved the reading. I’ve read all the JP Beaumont stories and found this reader to sound very like my interpretation of his voice.

Too short for the price...
I grew up on Whidbey Island and have been most of the places cited. Much nostalgia. But, for a novella this cost too much.

Don’t waste your time or $
Most boring Beaumont story ever, made even more boring by worst Beaumont narrator ever. He sounds half asleep, and voices all the characters exactly the same.
Go ahead and skip this one — it adds nothing to the Beaumont canon.
