Fantastic!

I was a little apprehensive about a Hoon story taking place in the US. Scotland has been such a big character in these books. But JD Kirk works his magic again and the book is brilliant! So many interesting characters. And Angus King again does HIS fabulous work narrating this with the different accents taking center stage.

Overall, a brilliant addition to the Hoon saga.

Read this book you will be laughing out loud it’s amazing!! Hilarious Angus king brings great life to the story.

Bob Hoon is the best!

I couldn’t stop laughing throughout the book, as can be said for pretty much all of Kirk’s books, and especially those involving Bob Hoon! As always, Angus King absolutely kills it with the perfect narration. Something I loved about this book was Hoon’s perspective of the U.S. He is spot on, sadly. Also, IRIS had me laughing nearly equally as much as Bob. I love that he was brought back too. I cannot wait for the next book in the series! It almost doesn’t matter what the storyline is - it’s still guaranteed to have me damn near peeing myself!

Another Great Hoon Adventure

I became a fan of JD Kirk through his DCI Logan series and Hoon was one of the characters I always loved so it was great to see that this series was created. I have listened to all the DCI Logan series and have now completed the current titles of the Hoon series. As an American, this story in particular struck my funny bone. I was laughing so hard during the first few chapters describing Hoon’s impressions of Florida I had to pause the book several times. JD Kirk has provided me with hours of entertainment through these two series. I would be remiss to not give a shout out to Angus King who is one of my all time favorite narrators. Since I am all caught up with the Hoon and Logan series, I am now trying another narrated by Angus King by Andrew Raymond. Looking forward to the next Logan and Hoon adventures.

Thrilling, outrageous and hilarious!

As an American I should be insulted or at least embarrassed by the latest Bob Hoon thriller set in the USA. Kirk hits on every American stereotype, including Elvis impersonators, hookers, pimps, gangsters, Southern hicks and police. But it is too darned funny to be insulted over it. As usual, the book is action-packed from the start, unrealistic, outrageous, full of quirky characters and hilarious. Hoon's collection of misfits somehow pull together to take on a major drug dealer and cartels. Wow.
I think that J.D. Kirk writes these books for his own amusement and this one is maybe his effort to get back at the USA over his recent problems here. Regardless, I enjoyed every book in the series and having Angus King narrator them is like icing on the cake. Read it!

I Can’t Help Falling in Love

By and By, I have such a Burning Love for Hoon! Whether he’s Crying in the Chapel or checking into the Heartbreak Hotel, you know he’s gonna deliver the Jailhouse Rock. Now some may have a Suspicious Mind, but trust me and Surrender, this book feels as good as a Kentucky Rain! 5 stars left me with a Burning Love ♥️

love every JD Kirk

I love Bob and the entire bunch. As soon a JD Kirk book releases I have to get it. This book, as all the rest in the series, had me laughing out loud and wanting to both finish it in a day, but also make it last as long as passible.

best of the hoon series

the storyline was crazy, but the Hoon character was deepened which was worthwhile. I enjoyed it overall, much more than the other books featuring Hoon.
