Acerca de esta escucha
When 23-year-old Mackenzie Foster wakes up in Kurat Manor to find herself captive to a sadistic stranger, she doesn't panic or cower in a corner. Instead, using her knowledge of horror video games, she comes up with a plan and prepares for the worst. But with insane, faceless creatures lurking the halls, notes detailing the experiments taking place inside, and a timid schoolteacher who's more of a hindrance than a help, surviving the night might be more than she's capable of.

Hints of Resident Evil
As a person steeped in the sub-genre of LITRPG I can appreciate a main character who bases life decisions on video games. That's the whole point after all. Additionally, as you listen you undoubtedly get the feeling that the book itself draws inspirations from video games themselves. I got a strong whiff of the original Resident Evil as a blueprint of sorts.
The book has a strong lead, and a potent mystery to boot as to what's going on and why is there a monster roaming the hallways. I also need to say that I loved the cover.
This felt more like a Young Adult novel than a straight up horror laden massacre. So, while I enjoyed it I don't think I was the target audience. My 12 year old loved it. That isn't to say that an adult couldn't enjoy the book; just that it seemed a bit toned down a little.
Beacom does a tidy little job of telling the story. She has a way of sinking into the main character and living the experiences outloud. I enjoyed her artistry in setting the pace and tone.
Its a good book, good concept, and well written but it did feel like it was wearing kid gloves.

Definitely A YA Listen
When I first saw this on FB, I thought it might be something I would like (The cover is what got me, It's great) but I had to struggle to finish it. I am sure it would be right up the alley of young adult readers/listeners. Lisa Beacom did an alright job of narrating, I just could not totally get into this story, but hey I'm an old guy..LoL. I received this audiobook code for free in a promo, and this is my voluntary unbiased review,
