This 5-session Spanish course is designed specifically for 6th graders, typically aged 11-12 years old, who are beginners in learning Spanish. The course's primary objective is to instill confidence in speaking and comprehending basic Spanish words, phrases, and simple conversations. It places a strong emphasis on understanding fundamental aspects of grammar, including the introduction and usage of introductory verbs. The course adopts a variety of effective teaching techniques to enhance comprehension and pronunciation skills, ensuring a solid foundation in the language.

The curriculum covers essential vocabulary topics such as answering questions, numbers, colors, telling time, types of vehicles, identifying places, and understanding people and parts of the body. In addition to language skills, the course offers a cultural journey, introducing students to Hispanic culture. This includes an exploration of Hispanic cuisine, influential artists, popular festivals, important Spanish literature, and traditional dance forms. These cultural elements enrich the learning experience, providing a broader context and appreciation for the Spanish-speaking world.

To reinforce learning, the course includes quiz modules, strategically placed later in the course, to test and consolidate understanding.
