Kind of like opposite of a Heinlein story.

The story was ok but it kind of reminds me of some Russian SF and fantasy I have read. Our main character doesn't learn anything or discover their destiny, he just has an adventure and benefits from the experience.

I could see it as an episode of an anthology series, like the Outer Limits episode that inspired the movie "Poltergeist."

Good story.

Short but good. Original in nature, yet it was what my mom always said was important. It had imagination.

A fantasy story between Sci-Fi

I love this writer, especially when is Sci Fi, this book in opinion is not the best, but is OK

Sci fi

Orion Scott Card did it again. Cute story about a worm 🐛 whole where one end started In the bedroom closet and the other end outside. First casualty was the mom🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼again I say it’s a very cute story.

A lot more fun than I thought!

This was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it as a quick listen. I hope you enjoy it too!

What they do. I came to love Sci-Fi as a boy of 10 years. You can take the word of a seasoned critic at 73 years now.
If you too enjoy Sci-Fi you will enjoy "Space Boy," a much better story than the title name...

Lovely sci-fi escape, short and entertaining.

Very much enjoyed this tale and narration. Spinning a well known fairy tale into the telling made for an unexpected treat.

Transdimensional missing person

Space Boy by Orson Scott Card is a short novella about a young boy whose mother has been missing for several years but turns out to have been sucked into another dimension by a wormhole in his younger brother's closet. He's rather creative about proving all this to his father and the two of them hatch a plan to save mom. The boy must venture to the other dimension which is denser, and humans are nearly fine mists.

Card has fun with this juvenile tale where a young boy saves the day. The narration is excellent with brisk pacing making for a quick listen.

really fun

That was a fun story. the mechanics of what it would be to travel to another planet, strange worm hole connections to make it possible... Very imaginative.

I love that the antagonist was compared to Rumpelstiltskin (lol).
