Acerca de esta escucha
Using practical, firsthand stories that offer helpful, portable takeaways, Pastor Boyd looks at the interweaving of his journey from spiritual orphan to treasured son, offering candid stories and freeing insights for every Christian still longing to come home.
The truth is, many of us as Christians still strive to “fit in” with God even when our Father offers us the identity of beloved daughters and sons. We’ve already been admitted, approved, and accepted - but we aren’t living that way.
In Sons and Daughters, Pastor Boyd looks at the interweaving of God’s grace and our daily lives: How do those who know they are God’s children think, speak, and act differently? How do they function as leaders and friends? How do they walk through pain?
You - and the purposes God has for you - are a cause for celebration, a reason to be both fearless and faithful. Come discover how to live like you belong.

The most important conversation you'll have. Why do so many of our conversations with one another lead to misunderstanding and hurt feelings? Brady Boyd turns to the example of Jesus Christ to show that the health of our conversations can be only as vibrant as the health of our interactions with God. As Proverbs says, "The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing" (Proverbs 12:18 niv).

One thing moves God: faith. Not doctrinal savvy. Not willpower. Trust in God alone stirs him to move miraculously on our behalf. Time and again, Jim Cymbala, author of Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, has seen the power of faith displayed in the lives of the ordinary people in his church, and in his own life. He has seen drug addicts and prostitutes set free, marriages restored, and sinners transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. All through the kind of radical, living faith described in this audiobook.

Interruptions: They're aggravating - sometimes infuriating. They make us want to tell people what we think of them. But how we handle interruptions actually tell us more about ourselves. The prophet Jonah's existence was interrupted by a call of God that would require a complete change of life. And it scared him enough to make him run in the opposite direction. Yet, what seemed to him to be an unnecessary and useless interruption was really an opportunity for Jonah to be involved in something the likes of which the Old Testament world had never seen before.

The world goes out of its way to make you believe you are not good enough. Maybe you aren't sure you like where you've been or who you've become. Maybe someone has made you believe a lie about who you are by speaking damaging words to you. The discovery of our true identities does not begin by looking within ourselves but by looking to the One who made us. Hello, My Name Is will inspire you not to wear the nametag that someone else gave you but to wear the name of who God says you are.

Historia
In this powerful audiobook, you’ll discover a memorable, simple way to be attentive to the voice of God and courageously obedient to the promptings of the Spirit. You’ll find practical ideas for discerning God’s will, and you’ll hear stories of ordinary men and women - just like you - who are living by the Rule and how it has transformed their lives and the lives of those they reach out to. The 10-Second Rule is a call to rediscover the revolutionary power of simple obedience as Jesus taught it and the early church lived it, before religious Christianity tamed it!

"Over the last four decades, I've met one-on-one with thousands of men. Most of them know that Jesus promised "a rich and satisfying life" (John 10:10), but too many are confused about what that looks like. In fact, I'd estimate that 90 percent of Christian men lead lukewarm, stagnant, defeated lives—and they hate it. When men try to put into words what's holding them back, they invariably describe one or more of seven symptoms. But you can experience a powerful life transformed by Christ. I'll tell you how." "God, if you're real, make yourself real to me." Each of us spends our lives on a journey toward God. Yet often our most deeply felt longings - for meaning, for love, for significance - end up leading us away from instead of toward our Creator and the people he made us to be. Finding Your Way Back to God shows you how to understand and listen to your longings in a whole new way.

In our age when the church can too often seem like a poor copy of the world, Chad Bird challenges us to reclaim the astounding originality of our ancient, backward faith. With compelling examples from the Bible and today, Bird paints an enticing picture of the counterintuitive, countercultural life that God wants for us. He helps listeners delight in all of the ways that Jesus turned the world upside down, allowing us to experience true freedom, not from our weaknesses but in the midst of them.

truly 5 stars
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book holds some amaing truths that if we can even begin to truly grasp them has the ability to change our lives! So many things I did not understand about myself and others was made clear as he takes us on a study of orphans and the orphan mentality we so often struggle with. when I began to see the huge difference in how others react to the you know that you know that you know you are a son or daughter, and heir, with all the rights, responsibilities, and privlidges that goes along with that... wow.... Yes, I would recomend this a hundred times yes!!!
What did you like best about this story?
the way it made me think differently. the truth when I recognized it was trasforming!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I might have wanted to but am glad I was not able to... it takes time to digest... It is however, a book I will listen to again and again, hoping to be able to absorb more of the truths it contatins.

I believe!
What made the experience of listening to Sons and Daughters the most enjoyable?
I like the short chapters. When listening to a book, you sometimes get distracted but the short, to the point, chapters really break down the lesson Pastor Boyd is explaining.
What did you like best about this story?
I really enjoyed the true to life stories that happen to all of us at some time in our lives or know people that have these stories. Pastor Boyd so gently yet strongly proves over and over how God loves us, forgives us, teaches us... God is our Father and treats us as his children no matter our age or past. As a mom myself, the story reiterates how unconditional love works.
Would you be willing to try another one of Adam Verner’s performances?
No. Having heard Pastor Boyd give a sermon in person, I did not like the narrator. Boyd has a bright fun personality and way of speaking and I feel like the narrator does not do the stories justice with a bland voice.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
No matter where you have been, you can always come home to God.
