Als Zoes Mum sich den Fuß bricht, bleibt der Doktorandin für klinische Psychologie nichts anderes übrig, als ihr Studium in Oxford auf Eis zu legen und in ihre Heimat Port Isaac in Cornwall zurückzukehren, um das kleine Café an der Strandpromenade zu übernehmen. Dabei hat Zoe sich geschworen, dem Ort fernzubleiben, seit ihr Verlobter Toby sie vor vielen Jahren zwei Wochen vor der Hochzeit eiskalt hat sitzen lassen. Toby ist stolzer Pub-Besitzer und eine immer hilfsbereite und gut gelaunte Frohnatur. Als Zoe in das kleine Fischerörtchen zurückkehrt, spürt Toby noch immer diese Anziehungskraft zwischen ihnen. Doch Zoe zeigt ihm die kalte Schulter. Erst als die beiden sich gemeinsam um eine Hochzeit von Freunden kümmern müssen, kommen sie sich näher. Werden sie der Versuchung standhalten oder der Liebe eine zweite Chance geben?
