As a layperson in the Catholic Church, sometimes the practices and ceremonies that take place can be very confusing. It may have been many years since we have had any formal instruction. We may encounter people from other Christian denominations, or other faiths entirely, who have questions or comments on some of what they see us do or what we as Catholics believe and because we don't fully understand ourselves it becomes difficult to explain to them what it all means.
