Super Thorough and Empowering!

I’ve been wanting to build a space of my own as a mini art studio in our backyard, but hesitated for years. Then a friend recommended using ship containers.
Although I though it was a good idea, I just did not know where to start. Then I found this book! This is an absolute gem of a guide! The author covered every critical point of the process so thoroughly that I feel totally empowered to finally build my own shipping container studio! Thanks Katrina!

This book can be for either man or women.

I have been thinking about this as a possible backyard office so this book interested me greatly and didn't disappoint. The book takes you through all of the necessary steps to construct a shipping container office. I was happy that the book explores how large of container that you would be happy with and the design. I can even have the option of connect containers. Requirements are discussed and even insulation for making it the most comfortable. A well done book.

I love it when I learn something new. I am pretty efficient at setting out plans, and yet, I learned something new in chp 3: Floor Plans!! I also enjoyed the chp on choosing the right container. I worked with containers right out of college, and they were all the same... not so any more. What a great chapter!! Thanks for blowing things wide open with a totally new idea for my office!!

This book provides history and background information, so you have a solid foundation to get started. You are guided step by step covering everything from A to Z. I appreciate the explanations and descriptions throughout the book to ensure that even folks new to this concept, like me, are able to stay fully engaged. This is an exceptionally well-written and organized book.

This book became a delightful discovery for both my partner, who's an avid crafter, and myself. With a shared interest in sustainable living, the audiobook chapters felt like stepping stones to creating a space that resonated with our values. As we listened to "A Quick Study of Container Homes" in Chapter 1, we realized that the concept aligned perfectly with our vision of an eco-friendly workspace.

Chapter 4's insights on "Choosing the Right Container" struck a chord. It reminded us of the time we scoured vintage shops for unique crafting materials. The audiobook's guidance on planning, site preparation, and even connecting containers in Chapter 6 felt like holding hands through a creative journey. What a unique way to have a home office. I found this very intriguing. The book helps you to figure out if it’s right for you by thinking about every little consideration. AN INNOVATIVE SOLUTION!

Author Katrina Pleasant really opened my eyes with this thoroughly researched book on utilizing shipping containers as a home office.
It’s an innovative solution for a cost-effective workspace (or play space,) and she leaves no stone unturned in the steps required to make this a reality.
With this book alone as a guide, I am convinced the average person could see a project like this from start to finish; that’s how detailed her book is!
The bonus PDF accompanying the book puts it all in black & white at your fingertips for easy reference.
My one snag is the narrator’s insistence on saying “ECK-cetera” instead of “ET-cetera.” I know I’m being a bit of a grammar N*zi here, but it’s beyond me how anyone who claims to be a professional narrator is so lacking in the grammar basics! Go brush up on your Latin, girl!
That aside, this is an excellent and very complete guide to creating your own office in an economical and sustainable way.
