A great addition to the Holmes Multiverse

Doyle gave us Holmes and Watson and since then the world has embraced them and added to their universe in spectacular fashion. This is a great set of tales good for devour fans or those just starting out. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Pretty good

I found this to be a very easy listen.
Entertaining and a good storyline.

Sherlock Holmes, Vampire Hunter

Sherlock Holmes and the Return of the Whitechapel Vampire is the 3rd in this series by Dean P. Turnbloom. Holmes and Watson are again on the hunt for Baron Antonio Barlucci, the Whitechapel Vampire who escaped but was buried under a mountain of snow Twenty five years later, Holmes & Watson head to New York after bodies are washing up on the US’s north east coast. The story continues with most of the same NYC characters from book 2. In addition there now is Mylo Strumm and Emily Drake’s daughter, Lucie and Dr Tremaine’s son, Phillip, also a doctor, and engaged to Lucie. Holmes is obsessed with finding and stopping Barlucci, to the point that Watson suspects his old friend has dementia. The scenes in the subway tunnels and old building looking for the Vampire’s nest were spooky. During the book, there were twists, turns and questions about who would live or die and who was sane or insane. It was very intense. The performance by Kevin E Green is absolutely wonderful. His talented use of multiple distinct voices and accents for all the different characters adds to the enjoyment of the story. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.

Amateur attempt

It was so obvious that Philip and Lucy’s young savior, Alexander was the main protagonist (forgot his name already) in disguise… from the very moment his character was introduced!!! I mean, seriously, the story goes out if it’s way to describe that his features are difficult to make out and he is a mysterious person who seemingly came out of nowhere. He behaves completely unnatural. It’s just all so contrived. The fact that it took to almost the end of the book for Holmes to realize the fact, and even then only because they met face to face. And the supporting characters are still absolutely dumbfounded and incredulous at the suggestion, at this point. Was this written for 12 year olds? 10 year olds? Maybe I’m the true idiot here for reading a children’s book at the ripe old age of 46.
