Loved this Fun and Sexy Friends to Lovers Romance!

What a fun, engaging, and super steamy friends to lovers romance! Peyton and Tristan have been friends since college and have seen each other thru all their ups and downs. They came from totally different worlds but connected from the start. They had a very passionate moment back then, but it was over way too soon. They remained good friends, but never forgot the sparks that simmered below the surface. Now years later, Peyton is helping a friend and herself by blogging about the reality of those sexy scenes we all love to read about in romance novels. Peyton needs someone she can trust to rip each others clothes off and Tristan is more than willing to be that man. The different sexy scenes they work through can be awkward and tricky, but they work through them together, having fun, laughing, and fighting the passion they both are afraid to give in to. I loved the progression of the scenes, the clever blog posts, and especially their self discovery from the fears that hold them back. Peyton and Tristan are so perfect together, supporting each other and their chemistry and passion is off the charts, when they finally give in to their desires. Their friends and family add so much wisdom, support and hilarity, making this story even more fun and heartfelt. The special bond, and scenes between Tristan and his brother, Barrett, were especially touching. Andi Arndt, and Jason Clarke give amazing performances, along with special guest appearances by Julia Whelan, Joe Arden, and Erin Mallon. Arndt really embodies the upbeat, friendly and caring Peyton, while Clarke is simply magic as the serious, sweet, and supportive Tristan, making me totally swoon over him! Lauren continues to create hilarious, heartwarming, and hot and sexy romances that capture my heart!

The answers to our questions on romance scenes!!!

As a reader of sexy novels I have found myself wondering “Is that even possible?!” when reading some scenes. This story delves deeper into that questions and tries out some of the most common scenes built in romance on does in a sweet, sexy, friendly(?) way. A new twist on friends-to-lovers, and second chance for sure! I loved Tristan and Peyton! I laughed. I swooned! I fell in love and so will you! Especially with the audiobook! Things get hot, hot, HOT!!!

Peyton and Tristan are all about relationships

Peyton has great friends (Lola and Amy), caring customers, an intuitive, fun mom and a terrific brother. While Tristan has become his younger brother’s guardian, he is also his best friend and role model. Together they are best friends, who finally admit to each other that they love each other. The dialogue alternates between snarky and clever, and very sweet. The narration is superb. This story is not deep or tragic though the length of Tristan’s unrequited feelings sometimes makes the reader annoyed with how oblivious Peyton can be. At its core though this is a clever, cute, sweet, flirty, hot, romance worth the credit.

Oh, Tristan! Oh, Jason!

I’m in love with Peyton’s best guy friend. He’s the full package: successful business owner, bearded beauty, great big brother, selfless friend. When Peyton asks him to help her research sexy scenes popular in romance novels, he’s all in. They shared a hot, passionate kiss several years prior, but it wasn’t their time. This research project could be just the push they need.

The experiments were smoking hot. Tristan and Peyton are great friends, their chemistry is off the charts, and they laugh so much together. To me, that’s a very sexy thing between couples. Both of them have their baggage, but it’s not a secret to either of them. I love when friends discover what they’ve been looking for has always been right in front of them.

This story has the feels; a beautiful journey between two childhood friends. Lauren’s friends/best friends to lovers stories are some of my favorite. The supporting cast is wonderful. Jason Clarke and Andi Arndt make a great narrating team. There are a few special guests, but I won’t spoil it.

This Boyfriend Material series is addictive, and I can’t wait for the next book!

Fun and flirty

Lauren never fails to deliever!

I am in love! Lauren's characters are heartfelt, honest, real, funny and sexy!
Her writing style makes me laugh out loud while turning my heart to mush and igniting my passions!

Do yourself a favour and start in on her universe of books! This one is really good, although I adore so many of her books it's hard to pick a favourite!

cute story but predictable

This was a cute story. From the beginning it was easy to tell how it would end, but including the twist with the book and blog was nice. Both lead chara terse were smart and witty, but dumb as a box of rocks with each other. 🤣🤣🤣 Having her ex make an appearance was nice too. Love the narration. only thing that could've made things better would be if the did the scenes together.

Live with no regrets and never let a man take away your shine! A great reminder from Lauren! I very much enjoyed Tristan and Peyton’s story, it was very entertaining with all the things that could go wrong when trying to reenact scenes from romance novels. I loved when they finally decided to stop playing games and go for it for real. “Put yourself out there. Do the hard things. Go for it.” The narration was fantastic, Jason is always a joy to listen to and he pairs well with the talented Andi. The rest of the cast was great to listen to as well.

Tristan had me swooning!

Sex and Other Shiny Objects is Lauren Blakely's newest standalone in the Boyfriend Material series. Lauren is one of my favorite authors and I'm loving the characters in this series. They are smart, sassy, sexy and swoony!

Story:
If you read Asking for a Friend you've met Tristan and Peyton. Best friends who shared a smoking hot kiss ten years ago, but the timing was never right to move past just friends. Now they are both single and when Peyton needs help with a special project, Tristan volunteers. He knows it's a bad idea, getting closer to her, but he can't help himself. She needs help testing out scenarios that happen in a romance novel. Do buttons really fly off when you rip off a shirt? Is sex on a staircase possible? How easy is it to shred panties? All answers I wanted to know myself! Tristan is one of Lauren's swooniest heroes! He's just so sweet and sexy and I love the way he loves his brother (who I also loved!) and his friends. This story was a second chance, best friends to lovers romance and it was just what I needed just when I needed it! I laughed, cried, got hot and bothered and smiled a lot! Not only was Tristan's relationship with Peyton fantastic, I absolutely loved Tristan and his brother, Barrett. They had some of the greatest scenes and it made me want to call my siblings just to say hi!

Andi and Jason were fantastic as always and I loved hearing some of my favorites surprise me while I listened. Lauren is a casting genius and I always listen to her books with a huge smile on my face!
