Practical and brief

This book was a lot less self promotion than I braced myself for based on the title and disclaimer. The publishing world is being turned upside down and Tom understands where it is heading. I will definitely listen to this book again and put a lot of it to good use. It is also worth it to hear him say 'rainbows' lol.

What made the experience of listening to Secrets of the Six Figure Author the most enjoyable?

Some amazing advice from the book: One big reason why writers fail is they simply "give up". DON'T GIVE UP! Delegate all tasks besides writing to professionals in that area, ie- editing and marketing (and even then, you could potentially hire a ghost wroter)And also, DON'T WAIT FOR INSPIRATION. And lastly, and this is a big one, PRACTICE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN TALENT. I suggest this book to anyone who doesn't want their tombstone to read "never finished that novel." :)

As with most books on this topic, this book is packed with good practical advice on the mechanics, business on writing and being and author, how to overcome practical problems, which sacrifices you make to become not just a writer, but a successful, published author. And with the rewards it brings along.
I have read other books on the topic, that had more hands-on demonstration of what needs to be done in the different stages of writing, book launch etc, but this book is still very good and worthwhile.
The narration of this book is excellent, very much in the tone of the written book, making it an enjoyable performance to listen to.
