Splendid Secrets!

This book is my favorite of the series so far! I love friendship turned to love stories. Rebecca Connolly has written a perfect one between Geoffrey and Mary. I loved how they infuriated each other and loved each other at the same time. I loved their witty dialogue too.

Friends to Loverx

This was a charming "friends to lovers" romance. It was fun to see the transformation of Mary as, by her own choice, she stepped out of the role of wallflower and into a bit of the limelight of the ballrooms. Geoffrey, her lifelong friend, is a true blue escort and encourager of Mary...until he begins to wonder who she is becoming and what THEIR future will be.

Love this series!

This is one of, if not, my favorite series ever, and this is one of my favorite books in the series. I love the author. I love the narrator. I love the characters. Each story is so heartwarming, and I love how the characters all interact in each other’s stories.

A well-written book!

I have not found any well-written Regency Romances in many years. "Secrets of a Spinster" by Rebecca Connolly came as a surprise for me. The book was well-written, had an interesting plot, was not too simple, and not easily anticipated. The characters were well developed, interesting, and fun. The narration was very well done. I am going to get another book by Rebecca Connolly hoping it is as well done as this one!

Spinster….whatsoever shall they do

The ups and downs of life when the things you choose are not choosing you. This book is amazing and I recommend it highly. It made me laugh out loud. So great!!!

Very long story...

The story drags and drags. While it was pleasant, it took so many chapters to get to the end. They could have shortened it by 3hrs.
I’m not taking too many stars off since it was great fun to hear other characters from other books in the same series.

An enjoyable story

An enjoyable story. While there were some minor historical inaccuracies, they were not a major distraction. While there were times that I didn’t particularly like the hero and heroine, I felt satisfied with the ending.

Sweet and clean

I enjoy friends to lovers stories and this is a nice, clean one. She's not quite a blue stocking who gets a makeover and almost lies herself. However, her handsome best friend and sister inevitably keep her grounded and we get a HEA that's just right.

Fun, but not realistic.

I like this series. the stories are fun. it's light and PG rated.

However, it isn't historically accurate.

The actions of the characters are modern. Two unmarried young women would not be living in a home without a chaperone. they would not be going to parties by themselves. A single woman would not be intertaining men in a room without a chaperone.
