Acerca de esta escucha

After a life of wrong turns and lost hope, can true love be more than a bittersweet fantasy? Melinda Andrews arrives on the Oregon coast with a dream of running the Sea Glass Inn. Still reeling after an unexpected divorce, Mel believes she has missed her chance to find love. All she wants is to make her business a success and regain her independence. She locates the artist who inspired her move so she can commission more paintings for her new inn. Pamela Whitford runs a gallery in a small seaside town, planning events and supporting other artists while neglecting her own talent. Since being deserted by the love she thought was forever, she refuses to let anyone close enough to hurt her again. But Pam can't resist the struggling new innkeeper, and she agrees to paint for her even though it means opening herself up to creativity and the vulnerability that goes with it. Can they learn to trust again and discover a second chance at love?

Reseñas editoriales

Narrator Teri Clark Linden has a slight huskiness to her voice that lends an additional layer of angst to this moody romance. Fragile Mel has just survived an unexpected divorce, leaving her skittish and wary of love. She restarts her life by buying a bed-and-breakfast on the Oregon coast called the Sea Glass Inn and finds Pamela Whitford, the artist who inspired her move in order to commission artwork for her new business. Pam has neglected her talent for years, fearful of the vulnerability that accompanies creativity, but something about Mel loosens the chains around her heart. The beautiful images Linden creates with her voice will linger in listeners' minds like Pam's paintings.

Lots of interior handwringing of emotions, more telling than showing, yet I made it to the end. Best aspect was teen visiting his mom as she embarks on new life and the divorcee bravely and doggedly building a new life for herself. The neurotic artist is tedious yet gratifying to see her grow as well.

After reading a few reviews I’ve come to the realization the narrator sounds like Siri.

I enjoyed this book and would love to read the sequel if there is one...

The story was very good, something a lot of people can relate to. The ending was very good as well.

great story and great narrator

This book was a great read/lesson, thanks. I loved the way Pam and Melody danced around each other. Neither one wanted to admit to the feelings she was having. I have always heard “Liquor is Quicker, but Tequila don’t care.”

No limes for key lime pie.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had to in this case. This book was very enjoyable and had a creative story line. Not to mention, the narration was great, which is not always the case as it can actually ruin a good story. But, would highly recommend this read.

Great story and wonderful narration.

This was a sweet romance between two slightly older women who have faced heartbreak in the past, and are scared to love again. It was interesting to hear about how Mel fixed up the old inn she bought and also about Pam' s struggle to get back to creating her art. Their love story was warm and relateable. Narrator was good.

sweet story, worth a listen

This book was pretty good. More story than sex, which I definitely appreciated. It's definitely a slow burn. I was definitely more interested in Mel as a character than Pam. It's a good book.

Loved the details of everything. The author does a great job of putting the reader in the scene. I miss the Oregon coast even more now. And I too am inspired me to paint after not picking up brush in a very long time. Fabulous book!
