AI narration ruined this story

Sorry, just couldn't get behind the AI narration, the AI voice provides a totally bland narration and its difficult to get involved, which is unfortunate as I typically enjoy these 'monster' stories, which remind me of B monster movies from my childhood. I've started skipping any books that are narrated by virtual voice.

Surprised by AI reader

I love creature horror ever since I read The Relic by Preston and Child. I've discovered alot of independent writers on kindle and Audible that have written great stories. This book was pretty good like Steve Alten good it starts out quickly and you sorta of think B-Movie at first but the characters build up and the story moves at a good pace. The AI reader wasnt bad I use Alexa to read me my kindle books while I drive and these readers actually sound pretty natural. But they do lack the individual voice narration for each character and don't bring the book to life the way a good Narrator's voice does.

great monster story

loved, loved , this book. love seeing my favorite monster getting some spot light. disappointed that an actual voice actor wasn't given work. real people could have really made this book pop.

Good story but bad narration

This was a pretty good story but I was wondering the whole time what was wrong with the narrator and why he sounded like a robot and got so many of the cadences wrong. At the end of the narration the listener is told that this is a performance from virtual voice so I guess it’s AI. I hope that this is not the direction that audible is going in because it really ruins a good story.

A simple, quick sea creature feature

Nothing original, but still an enjoyable few hours. Give it a try, especially if you are new to this genre.

Good outlandish tale

Pretty good story. Even when it's bigger than life, it's fun to play along. The bad guy was someone you love to hate but know he's part of what made it such a good book. I wish we would've seen something of Patrick's dad at the end. maybe he would've been nicer? i doubt it.

The virtual voice narration is actually good. I was surprised.

The sexual child abuse

The story was ok, but the sexual child abuse even though brief was too much. Where does that even fit in a sea monster story?

Surprisingly bland

Surprisingly bland and uneventful. Characters are all one dimensional and unlikeable. The story is heavily padded with subplot that go nowhere and exist for no reason other than to lengthen the book

Not for me!

This is called a "horror story" but it's more about a couple of young men ... their ridiculous over the top drinking and varied sexual encounters. It does have a monster but the author spends more time developing the life style of these men. I only got to chapter 50 before I stopped wasting my time!
